THE THEME MEDIA TEAM
Ashley Frost - Principal Director and Founder Ashley is the founder of Theme Media and principal director of the holding company Theme Publishing Pty Ltd. Starting with a small business idea in the 1990’s, Ashley has facilitated the growth of Theme Media to an international production company, distributing Travel Media to over 80 countries around the world. Ashley has worked in arts administration for both government and private enterprise for over 20 years, with extensive experience in all aspects of new media production and project management. Both Ashley’s mother and father operated their own travel agencies from the 1980’s giving Ashley front-line, first hand experience in the travel industry. Ashley has traveled all his life and is passionate about developing high quality, easily accessible, multi-platform travel media resources. Ashley has a BA Fine Arts from the National Arts School East Sydney, and is a PhD Candidate with the University of Wollongong.
Brogan Bunt - Technical and Creative Director Brogan Bunt is a senior lecturer in the School of Art and Design within the Faculty of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong. Prior to this he was Program Chair of the Bachelor of Multimedia at Murdoch University (2000-2003) and Director of the Media/Multimedia specialisation within the Bachelor of Communication at the University of Canberra (1999-2000). He has a wide-ranging media production experience and high-level expertise in multimedia design and programming. His research work involves both interactive documentary and electronic art projects. His major work, Halfeti – Only Fish Shall Visit, is a navigable portrait a small Turkish town on the eve of its flooding by a large hydro-electrical project. Brogan has exhibited work at the Perth International Festival of the Arts, the Biennale of Electronic Arts (Perth), ArtSpace (Sydney), and at Multimedia Arts Asia and Pacific (Beijing).
Peter Needham -Freelance Travel and Tourism Writer Peter Needham is a travel and tourism writer (both trade and consumer) with over 25 years experience in travel reporting. For seven years (1986-1993), he was editor of Inside Tourism, Australia’s only weekly travel industry magazine during that period.
Peter’s background includes reporting for the Guardian newspaper in London and editing for the Los Angeles Times/Washington Post News Service in Europe. He has also worked for Reuters in Fleet Street, London and for Australian Associated Press in Sydney.
Peter has travelled extensively, including backpacking around South America and working in a Saudi Arabian military hospital. For three of his eight years in London, Peter worked as Manager of Editorial and Production for the international marketing company Mark. B. Durchslag Associates. The company’s clients included Norwegian Caribbean Line, Braniff International Airways and the travel division of American Express.
Since going freelance in 1993, Peter has written for the Melbourne Age, the Weekend Australian, MICE BTN (Business Travel News), the Sydney Morning Herald, Australian Financial Review, the South China Morning Post, Readers Digest, Qantas The Australian Way magazine, Travelweek, Traveltalk, Traveltrade, Travel Weekly, Travel Bulletin, AirCargo Asia-Pacific, Travel Daily, e-Travel Blackboard, Travel Australia, Downunder Travel Bulletin, ATX and Asia Travel Trade (the latter in Singapore) as well as Take Off in Scandinavia, for which he is Australian correspondent.
For over a decade, Peter has written his double-page “Over the Horizon” column for each issue of Vacations & Travel magazine. He also writes for Tourism Australia and Tourism New South Wales.
Anne Howell - Communications and Media Consultant Former editor of Sparx magazine and journalist for the Fairfax publications, The Sydney Morning Herald and Illawarra Mercury, Anne Howell divides her time between working in Thirroul as Theme’s Communications and Media Manager, in Sydney as Business Manager for tjc, a publicist for the Arts, and at her desk to work on her satiric novel, 1984 Did Not Take Place, based on the mid-80s Contemporary Art movement, as part of a Doctorate of Creative Arts at the University of Wollongong.
