ARTIST IN RESIDENCE PROGRAM
ABOUT THE PROGRAM The Artist in Residence Program a truly global project offering shipboard residencies to visual artists, photographers and filmmakers. The majority of our residencies are located on ships traveling to the Polar regions; however we are now offering an increasing number of residencies on ships traveling to other amazing locations around the globe.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY? The Artist in Residence Program is open to: • Visual Artists, Photographers and Filmmakers from a range of creative practices • Artists over the age of 18 • Artists of any nationality, who can read, write and speak English • Artists who have a current and valid passport • Artist who have paid the Theme Membership • The artist must meet the essential selection criteria and provide the necessary support material .
NEW 'ALL YEAR ROUND' APPLICATION PROCESS Theme operates a simple three-step application process.
1.Email Theme your CV, bio and examples of your work. We will then add you to our artists database and send you our monthly artist newsletter which contains the dates for future artist residencies (usually at least 6 months in advance), the latest news about exhibitions and Polar projects as well as features of our member artists.
2. Download the application form from the listing below, complete all the questions and return to Theme; ideally as an email-attached document. We will review you application and notify you whether you meet the criteria for our residencies. Once your application is approved, we will keep your application, CV, Bio and images on your file, that can be updated at anytime by you.
To receive Theme's Artist Newsletter email jess@theme.com.au with your request
3. Dates for residencies will be listed in the artist newsletter between 6 and 12 months in advance. To be eligible to apply for a specific residency you must become a member of Theme which entitle artists to a number of benefits

Once you become a member you can apply for any residency that we list. We recommend applying for more than one residency listed in order of preference. It is anticipated we will have Silversea Expeditions residencies for the 2009/2010 season up shortly. This will include around 18 to 20 cruises over 12 months.
