Janet Morgan

Janet Morgan is an artist whose expressive paintings capture movement, sound and a visceral response to nature. Being both a painter and a dancer informs her art in an appreciation of the saying “Everything is in motion, some things just move slower that others”. From the dancing of clouds to the slow forces of geology, movement creates form and helps us depict nature with energy and enthusiasm.

Janet has completed two residencies in Death Valley National Park, one at Weir Farm National History Site in Connecticut, and she will soon do her second at the Omega Institute in New York. She worked as a creative arts therapist for 18 years with adult cancer patients at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She has taught in many places and institutions and has painted landscapes inspired by her travels in Central Asia, Africa, South and North America.
