Leeanna GoldsmithLeeanna is Australian born and raised of Native American, French Canadian, Danish and Irish heritage, which reveals itself in her artworks. Revelling in nature, she absorbs the essence of the environment and reacts to places with passion and emotion. Travelling to Canada, the US, France, Indonesia, Hong Kong and numerous islands in the South Pacific and throughout Australia has broadened her horizons and stretched her comfort zone, widening her visions spiritually and artistically.
Inspired and mentored by Australian landscape artists of the calibre of Robert Juniper for his unique style and draftsmanship. David van Nunen for discipline and his fantastic use of colour and Liz Cuming for composition and pattern making, all of whom have encouraged and influenced her style. Panoramic vistas or macro views, intimate details of plants and life drawings are woven into etchings, lino cuts, mono prints, watercolours, acrylics and oils on canvas which reveal sensitivity of line, textural quality and awareness of colour. Small works inevitably end up as large canvases. Plein air works are fast and loose whilst her studio works are controlled and polished.
